Southeast Essex Informal Member Group

Our group, affectionately referred to as 'SEG' (Southeast Essex Group), makes the most of its rural location as a base for leisurely Sunday rides. This is not an exclusive group. There is no competition. Our members have a wide range of abilities, ages and a balance of men and women. We make a point to take care of less experienced or fit members and will not abandon you with a puncture in the middle of nowhere.

Upcoming Rides

We meet on Sunday's at Wickford Cafe Restaurant, 3–5 The Broadway, Wickford, SS11 7AD, at 9:15 am to leave at 9:30 am.

Riders not intending to go onto lunch after elevenses will be able to return to the starting point by joining the returning group led by an experienced leader.

Club Night

St Lawrence and All Saints Church Hall, Eastwoodbury Lane, Eastwood, SS2 6UY

We meet at 8 pm and close the meeting at 10 pm on the dates below. Tea, coffee, and biscuits are normally on the menu unless someone brings in the cakes.

What do we do at our meetings, as a cycling club we obviously talk about bikes and cycling, tours and maintenance, which we sometimes carry out at our club nights.

On occasions one of our members puts on a film show which could be about vintage bikes/cycling or about some of our weekends away, or cycling events or just general cycling, but this doesn't mean we don't talk about other things going on in the world and Essex. Some have been heard to talk about their cars or about sailing or caravan holidays!

We have a variation of Sunday rides in and around Essex with the odd away day rides in Suffolk, Kent, Isle of Thanet, London, plus there are events put on by other clubs/groups that we take part in during the year.
